What to Expect in our Emergency Room
As a patient, you will be cared for by staff trained to respond to medical emergencies. We understand a visit to the ER can be a very stressful time; therefore, you should expect us to communicate with you and guide you through your situation. You should always ask questions if you do not understand.

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown, Centerpoint Health - Paris and Centerpoint Health - Versailles have each been accredited by the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center. They also received Acute Stroke Ready Hospital certification from The Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association. Centerpoint Health - Georgetown is also an Accredited Heart Failure facility.
Centerpoint Health - Winchester has been recognized by the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and American Heart Association.

As an affiliate of the UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute and the UK Stroke Care Network, Centerpoint Health partners with UK Healthcare to diagnose, treat and intervene when heart attacks and strokes occur. University of Kentucky neurosurgeons work in partnership via telemedicine with our emergency room physicians to identify and treat strokes.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, calling 9-1-1 is almost always the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment. EMS staff are trained to revive someone whose heart has stopped. It is best to call EMS for rapid transport to the emergency room.
