GEORGETOWN, KY. (June 19, 2026) -- Centerpoint Health is proud to announce the 2026 Mercy Award winners for each of our four hospital locations: Tammie Overstreet, Scotty Halsey, Kathleen Wood and Donna Lane. These exceptional individuals were selected for their compassion, dedication and commitment to serving their communities.
The Mercy Award, established by Lifepoint Health, is the highest honor an employee can receive. It recognizes team members who embody the spirit and values of the company’s founding leader, Scott Mercy—demonstrating integrity, compassion, respect and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others.
Centerpoint Health – Georgetown: Tammie Overstreet
Tammie Overstreet is celebrated for her kindness, empathy and heartfelt approach to patient care. She consistently goes above and beyond—making children feel safe, supporting new mothers and treating every patient as if they were family. Her colleagues describe her as genuine, uplifting and committed to creating a welcoming environment. Tammie’s compassion extends beyond the clinic walls, touching providers, staff and community members alike.
Centerpoint Health – Paris: Scotty Halsey
Scotty Halsy is known for his compassion and service to some of the most vulnerable populations across Kentucky. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, he volunteers his time in prisons, rehab centers and recovery programs—offering fellowship, support and hope. He provides transportation, clothing, food and spiritual guidance to those in need. His quiet, humble service and his annual Blessing of the Hands ceremony make him a powerful example of the Mercy legacy.
Centerpoint Health – Versailles: Kathleen Wood
Kathleen Wood is described as the embodiment of kindness and advocacy. She is a strong supporter of her patients, always seeking what motivates them and finding creative ways to help them heal. Her compassion extends into the community, where she teaches caregiver classes to support families in need and has a nonprofit organization that inspires and motivates others. Her colleagues admire her determination, creativity and ability to inspire hope even in difficult moments.
Centerpoint Health – Winchester: Donna Lane
Donna Lane is recognized for her leadership and compassion. She leads with humility, integrity and deep commitment to her team. Donna is known for going beyond her duties. From purchasing personal items for patients to transforming hospital rooms into comforting spaces, Donna goes above and beyond the call of duty as a registered nurse. She inspires her staff by working beside them and caring for every patient as a whole person.
“Each of these honorees represents the very best of who we are at Centerpoint Health. Their compassion, dedication and unwavering commitment to serving others reflect the true spirit of the Mercy Award,” said Bruce Tassin, market president of Centerpoint Health. “Tammie, Scotty, Kathleen and Donna remind us every day what it means to lead with heart, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate their contributions to our patients and our communities.”
