Centerpoint Health – Georgetown Emergency Department Recognized for Excellence

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (July 30, 2026) – Centerpoint Health, a part of Lifepoint Health, announced today that its emergency department in Georgetown has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Lantern Award, which recognizes exceptional innovation and evidence-based practice improvements that resulted in improved patient care and staff well-being. Centerpoint Health – Georgetown is the first Lifepoint Health facility and first hospital in the central Kentucky region to receive the national recognition.

The emergency room at Centerpoint Health in Georgetown is committed to providing timely, high-quality emergency care for every patient. The Lantern Award recognizes emergency rooms in areas of leadership – practice, leadership – operations, education, advocacy, research and clinical practice.

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown is among 126 recipients that will be recognized in upcoming ENA publications, on the ENA website and during Emergency Nursing 2026, the association’s annual conference in Phoenix, Sept. 28-Oct. 1.

It isn’t an award for an individual or an entire hospital—it’s a recognition earned by an emergency department and the team that powers it every day,” said ENA President Dustin Bass, DNP, MHA, RN, CEN, NEA-BC. “Centerpoint Health – Georgetown is one of 126 emergency departments to achieve a Lantern Award this year.”

Centerpoint Health invites the community to join the celebration of this remarkable achievement. A community recognition ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 11, at 3 pm outside the Centerpoint Health – Georgetown Emergency Room. Patients, community members, local leaders and first responders are encouraged to attend as the team celebrates Georgetown's emergency room and its national recognition.
