Centerpoint Health Welcomes Dr. Morgan Cowan During Pain Awareness Month

WINCHESTER, Ky. (September 1, 2026) – September is Pain Awareness Month and Centerpoint Health is pleased to welcome Morgan Cowan, DO, to Centerpoint Pain & Spine. Dr. Cowan will primarily care for patients in Winchester and Paris, expanding access to specialized pain care across the bluegrass region. 

Dr. Cowan specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions, including neck and back pain, nerve pain, joint pain—including knee and shoulder pain—cancer-related pain, migraines and headaches.

“Dr. Cowan is a tremendous addition to our pain and spine team and will help expand access to specialized care in Winchester and Paris,” said Dr. Vinod Muniswamy, market medical director for Pain & Spine for Centerpoint Health. “Our approach is to identify and treat pain at its source using innovative treatments, minimally invasive procedures and advanced technologies. We work closely with each patient to develop an individualized plan that can provide lasting relief and improve quality of life.”

Dr. Cowan completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Kentucky and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s McGovern Medical School, where he served as an administrative chief resident. He earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University–DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating summa cum laude, and holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Florida State University.

“Pain is personal, and every patient’s experience is different,” said Dr. Cowan. “I look forward to working with patients throughout Bourbon, Clark and surrounding counties to help them better understand the source of their pain, explore treatment options and improve their quality of life.”
