After nearly 19 years at Centerpoint Health – Georgetown in food and nutritional service, one familiar face is preparing for a well-deserved retirement, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, consistency and warm morning meetings.

Known for her welcoming smile and caring personality, Ms. Judy Gamler has spent almost two decades serving employees, physicians, nurses and staff each morning, helping start the day on a positive note. While breakfast may have been her favorite meal to serve, it was the people and relationships that made her time at the hospital meaningful.

“Everybody’s very polite, very nice and just good to see,” she shared. “First thing in the morning is an important time for everybody to say good morning and get the day started.”

Throughout the years, she says the supportive, family-oriented atmosphere kept her close to Centerpoint Health – Georgetown. From longtime coworkers to leaders who helped accommodate her needs over the years, she describes the hospital as “a nice place to work” where “everybody’s very caring about each other.”

As she enters retirement, she looks forward to slowing down, traveling with her husband and celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary later this year. She’s especially excited to trade in her early morning alarms for rest and relaxation. “It’s just been a really nice place to work,” she said.
